The Courtyard Restaurant is proud of its reputation of being one of the best places to eat in the North Yorkshire area. The modern creative menus are packed with local and regional produce that showcases the best of Yorkshire food.
Our head chef Craig has a reputation for cooking fabulous food and has designed our menus to tempt the most discerning taste buds. Locally sourced ingredients are finished off with imagination and finesse to provide a fabulous dining experience.
Craig previously trained and worked at Le Gavroche in London (2 Michelin stars) and more recently worked alongside the hugely talented Gareth Ward, as his second chef at Ynyshir Hall (1 Michelin star and 4 Rosettes).
Craig's philosophy in the kitchen is 'Keep it Simple', buy the best quality ingredients, cook them well and let the natural flavours speak for themselves.
Dining in the Courtyard Restaurant is a gourmet treat and a must visit, if you are staying in the Scarborough area or any of the other resorts along the Yorkshire Coast. Private Dining is also available for that special occasion.
On fine summers days you can also dine and take drinks on the terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens and courtyard. Here you can enjoy some of the best views North Yorkshire has to offer.
As the only restaurant in Scarborough to have been awarded 2-rosettes for culinary excellence, you won't be disappointed with the exceptional food.
To complement your food, we have an extensive wine list, vintage Champagne, well-stocked cellar and a good selection of after dinner liqueurs, including cognac's and malt whisky.
If your prefer something a little different, the charming Bistro is a relaxed alternative to the Courtyard Restaurant, with exposed stone walls, beamed ceiling, log burner and a traditional bar.
The Bistro serves traditional gastro pub food with all the usual family favourites and is the perfect choice if you enjoy traditional British food when dining out. Food is also served in the hotel bar and lounges.
Here you can catch up with friends over a glass of wine, enjoy a hearty meal or simply sit and watch the world go by.
Whatever menu your choose, you can be guaranteed and excellent meal, cooked to perfection, using local Yorkshire ingredients such as Lamb, Beef, Pork and Yorkshire Moors Game, sourced from some of the best local suppliers. Much of the fish and seafood is caught in the North Sea and along the Yorkshire Coast.
Special Dietary Requirements
Our chefs are always able to cater to your dietary requirements should you require something that isn't normally on our menus. There is always vegetarian options and many of our dishes are suitable (or can easily be adapted) for those requiring gluten free.
It is always best to inform us of your dietary requirements when you book, or at least two working days before you arrive, especially if your diet is something that is very specialist and not always present on our menu (eg. vegan). This gives our chefs time to prepare dishes and order extra provisions, such as gluten free bread, vegetarian sausages, spreads and soya milk etc, as we do not always keep these items in stock. Please feel free to bring your own selection of these provisions if you prefer. We will always try our hardest to accommodate our guests dietary needs, but respectfully ask that you give us time to properly prepare for your requirements. If you have a favourite dish or recipe then please let us know and our chefs can prepare it for you whenever possible.
